Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich has entered into a partnership with LifeScience ORG to promote entrepreneurship in biotech and life sciences at LMU. As part of the collaboration, they will receive exclusive access to a curated pan-European peer community focused on leadership development, peer-to-peer exchange, and sustainable business development in the life sciences. Learning from the established players – that is the idea behind LifeScience ORG's “nextGEN Community.” This network brings together around 200 life science founders from across Europe to regularly exchange ideas in leadership discussions, peer roundtables, and learning formats with nearly 250 experienced CEOs and investors from Europe and the US. The “nextGEN Community” is specifically aimed at biotech and life sciences companies entrepreneurs in the pre-seed and seed phases, who are making the transition from scientific start-up to building a company. Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich is one of Europe's leading research universities and has a strong track record in translational life sciences and biomedical innovation.

“We actively support the transfer of excellent research into practical applications – among other things through our new organizational unit Entrepreneurship and Transfer, which provides comprehensive support to founders from the initial idea to market entry,” says Dr. Philipp Baaske, Vice President for Entrepreneurship. As the co-founder of a biotech start-up, he knows: "Building a company is inextricably linked to personal growth and development as a leader. Continuous leadership training is not an option, but a prerequisite if companies are to grow healthily and sustainably. And in my experience, you learn the most from role models – in this case, experienced founders."

Baaske himself has been a member of LifeScience ORG for three years and has seen how effective a trusting peer community can be. “In my new role as Vice President for Entrepreneurship at LMU, I see it as my job to support the next generation of our founders and catalyze their success.” Through its partnership with LifeScience ORG, LMU aims to ensure that future biotech entrepreneurs have access from the outset to the peer learning and leadership development they need to build sustainable and impactful companies.

About LifeScience ORG: Founded in 2021 to strengthen leadership in Europe's life sciences sector from within, the organization is now one of the leading peer communities for biotech and life sciences CEOs, bringing together leaders from across Europe. Its goal is to translate experience into better decisions and ambitions into globally competitive companies. “nextGEN” is LifeScience ORG's selective program for early-stage founders (pre-seed and seed), where scientific excellence must be translated into entrepreneurial competence. “nextGEN” provides future CEOs with the peer exchange and leadership perspectives they need for international scaling. www.lifescienceorg.com
